2011 has been an exciting year of growth and innovation at RW3, with several new clients, state-of-the-art Mobile platforms, and great interest in our DSR and advanced reporting / analytics solutions.

Along with welcoming new clients Pfizer Consumer Healthcare, St. Joseph Health System, All-Clad Metalcrafters and Ferrero USA, Inc., one of our biggest ‘wins’ this year is related to Demand Signal Repository (DSR) platforms. Both new and long-standing clients are recognizing the immense productivity gains around DSR and have jumped on the bandwagon with RW3. Learn more in our DSR Feature.

The fourth quarter kicked off with our annual Executive Peer Group (EPG) meeting in Austin. Participants from both client and non-client CPG companies got together to exchange best practices, learn about our latest advanced solutions and acquire fresh ideas.

During EPG, our Audit and InStore teams introduced two new applications in our emerging suite of mobile solutions for iPad, iPhone and Android. RW3 Mobile InStore streamlines sales processes, while RW3 Mobile Audit is truly revolutionizing audits. For more specific information, click on the links in the right sidebar.

Moving forward, we will continue to share our 20 years of industry expertise with both new and long-standing CPG clients to dramatically improve how they do business. We also plan to expand our expertise into the healthcare industry as these companies race to tackle the challenges of data capture & integration to meet new ‘meaningful use’ IT requirements under The American Recovery and Reinvest-ment Act of 2009 (ARRA).

We have many exciting growth opportunities ahead --I am looking forward to the New Year!

Wishing you and yours a very happy holiday season.

Over the past few years, industry interest in Demand Signal Repositories (DSR) has gained momentum as early adopters begin to share their exciting results. Several RW3 clients are out ahead of the curve, looking to capture and leverage the immense productivity gains proven to result from DSR implementation.

Seeking our expertise, several long-standing clients and new clients have approached us about extending the utilization of POS data, initially used for facilitating and measuring impact at retail. In response, RW3 created and implemented a flexible and integrated DSR solution to improve demand forecasting, on-shelf availability, product life cycle management, promotion compliance and inventory management. All-Clad Metalcrafters, for example, has recently adopted an RW3 DSR platform integrating four separate streams of Retailer POS with an additional layer of integrated Reporting and Analytics, helping their team to achieve higher-level sales performance and optimize the quality of their performance in the retail outlet.

In five short months, RW3 built and implemented the All-Clad DSR with reporting/analytic solution. All-Clad immediately increased their sales team productivity by eliminating costly manual retailer data integration, and also gained fact-based intelligence with an accurate and more holistic view of consumer demand across all retailers. This allows them to better forecast, manage and track inventory and determine best placement and mix of their ‘A’ items in each store.

EPG: A Roaring Success!

The smoke blanketing Austin skies in September wasn’t from just the wildfires  – but from the collective sizzle of 35 innovative minds coming together during RW3’s annual Executive Peer Group Conference (EPG) at the Hyatt Regency Lost Pines Resort.

Nestlé fueled the intellectual fires with an eye opening presentation highlighting benefits of their RW3 audit system and processes. Energizer and Time Warner Retail Sales & Marketing followed with valuable insights about their market and data integration strategies. RW3 also showcased our most innovative and advanced Reporting & Analytics solutions.

Excitement roared through the meeting when RW3’s Development Team introduced the RW3 Mobile Audit and Mobile InStore solutions for iPad, iPhone and Android. RW3 GPS Smart Route, integrated in both these new RW3 Mobile apps, was the hot feature and ignited energetic discussion. RW3 GPS Smart Route identifies, prioritizes, color codes and maps out critical store opportunities, integrating photo capture, closed loop alerts and real time access to relevant and targeted communication. With the Mobile apps streaming live on iPads, CPG executives saw just how easy, intuitive and valuable these solutions are to their business. Navigating through the RW3 Mobile Audit app, users could clearly see how the solutions streamlined core audit call requirements to improve auditor efficiencies and delivered more accurate store intelligence on the go. One CPG Executive declared that the RW3 Mobile InStore solution was a ‘no brainer’ for manufacturers who want to increase sales force productivity.  Both apps are now available by download from iTunes App Store or through an in‐house Apple Enterprise license. For more information, click on the links in the right sidebar of this newsletter.

The peer exchange concluded with a lively discussion as both panel members and attendees shared key challenges and successes, best practices and recommendations for adopting business solutions. Participants left this peer-to-peer exchange with renewed enthusiasm for innovating and leveraging with current resources, optimizing in-store opportunities, and achieving higher ROI at their respective organizations.

Watch for 2012 EPG Conference dates to be announced early next year.

Client Update: Timex Group USA

RW3 has expanded our involvment with the Timex executive leadership team on multiple levels, to help them respond to their consumer much more rapidly and to improve revenue and margins in a limited growth category. To that end, Timex recently initiated a project with RW3 to incorporate new capabilities into their RW3 Merchandising system - with the goal to implement an automated payroll collection system to facilitate better tracking and use of merchandisers’ time in-store. The result is a fully automated, web-based solution that continues to pay dividends in improved efficiencies.

Employee Spotlight: Trey Epich

Business Development Manager

Trey Epich joined RW3 in 2010 as a member of our Customer Support team, focused on supporting Nestlé’s RW3 solution. Through his hard work and sales and customer service aptitude, Trey was recently promoted to Business Development Manager for the RW3 Sales team.

Trey was raised in Chicago, moving to Austin in 2005 to attend college at UT, where he founded the University of Texas Bass fishing team and traveled across the country to fish tournaments.  On the path to earning his BS in Kinesiology-Sport Management, Trey worked as a marketing intern and then Account Executive with the Round Rock Express, currently the AAA affiliate of the Texas Rangers. It is there he got to flex his Sales and Marketing muscles, and had the opportunity to meet a lot of great people, including Nolan Ryan, Will Ferrell and Tom Garry (Sr. Director, Account Services, RW3).

In his leisure time, Trey serves as Sponsorship Chair on the Board of the Texas Exes Austin Chapter, a non-profit organization that’s sole purpose is to raise scholarship funds for Austin area high school students. He also continues to indulge his hobbies of hunting & fishing, competing at the state and local level in bass fishing tournaments and travelling all over the world to fish for fun.  The youngest of 3 children, Trey looks forward to welcoming his folks to Texas as they move to Austin early next year.
