CEO note

 CHANGE IS IN THE AIR!

photo

It's hard to believe we are a fourth of the way through 2008! Our team at RW3 has been extremely busy: serving our growing list of clients, accelerating product development activities, reshaping our Austin Center of Operations and Development, and also opening our Bentonville office.

In January, we completed a consulting role with Timex to help implement their core objective: to assist the organization in helping key retailers improve execution in their outlets. The success of this partnership speaks for itself!

Our Account Management team spent an afternoon visiting a new Tesco Fresh & Easy store in Phoenix, AZ. As you all know, Tesco is projecting several hundred of these stores over the next five years. We thought it would be important to get a firsthand look at what kind of impact it might have on the marketplace. You will find our Team's review in this newsletter.

Our Development Team has innovated a new system architecture that will enable future global deployment of client applications.

Meanwhile, our Austin office boasts beautiful new furnishings, a more efficient floor plan, and a state-of-the-art conference center that will make our on-site meetings even more productive.

We hope you are well on your way to achieving your company and individual goals for 2008. We appreciate the opportunity to help get you there!

Happy Spring!

February 27, 2008
Initiated by explosive interest in the InSight Group’s reporting & analytics services, RW3 held its first annual InSight Group Summit in Austin on February 27, 2008. Well attended by Business Analysts and Advisors from client companies as well as prospects, this educational workshop provided hands-on demonstrations and discussion related to:

» Applying innovative and flexible technology to make better business decisions
» Transforming data into actionable intelligence
» Understanding mass data integration options
» Dashboards, Alerts, EARs, and more

Participants also heard first hand from Guest Speaker, Don Turano (VP Sales, Timex Corporation) how Timex has directly impacted its ROI by learning to manage and understand their POS data.

The meeting was a great success, generating a plethora of ideas for individual retail strategies, as well as a wider understanding of the possibilities for utilizing data sources in impacting a company’s ROI.

“The Summit provided an outstanding forum for a potential new client, such as Pharmavite, to meet the people of RW3 and to understand their capabilities to provide business solutions for our company. It was an extremely effective use of my time for an initial meeting.” – Dave Larson, Divisional VP, National Accounts, Pharmavite

Client Focus: ConAgra

ConAgra Shifts Focus and Reaps the Benefits!

ConAgra identified a need for increased in-store focus on their categories and brands for 2008. With this renewed attention on retail excellence, ConAgra made the decision to move to Acosta Sales and Marketing’s Dedicated Model in many of their retail grocery stores. Along with the new team, ConAgra called on RW3 to manage the success of their investment. We worked closely with ConAgra to develop a reporting solution to measure the team's accomplishments and the activities supporting those accomplishments. Early results have shown increased distribution, share-of-shelf, and a significant number of new in-store sales to support promotions.

ConAgra also identified a need for better focus and retail effectiveness at Wal-Mart, and has hired a Direct Retail Team to call on WM Stores in Texas. RW3 designed an InStore Mobile Application that allows communication to and from the Team, helping them to identify and correct physical inventory and promotional issues, and to sell new product. The Direct Retail Team launched in January 2008 with RW3 providing the solution to support the identification of in-store issues, deliver those to the field in an intuitive manner and measure successful fixes. In addition, RW3’s InSight Group designed a set of reports that allows ConAgra to measure and quantify the effectiveness of the Direct Retail Team.

Both ConAgra and RW3 are pleased with the early results and ROI. The Direct Retail Team is able to collect sales as well as distribution gains and gaps. More to come as this Team gets further time on the street!

InSights at Tesco's Fresh & Easy

Scottsdale, AZ – February 2008
By Shauna Hock, RW3 Account Manager

You’ve heard the saying “be a good neighbor”. That is exactly what Tesco’s new US Fresh & Easy store is shooting to be. They care about the environment, and are showing this by including energy efficient equipment in their stores and operations. And since they are a neighborhood market, they reduce travel time, recruit from the local area, source fresh produce & meats locally whenever possible, and encourage neighborhood shopping.
